How CLT applies to Multitasking

Updated: May 16, 2021

Now that we've learned about cognitive load theory, the theory also creates the argument against multitasking. This is because when we are multitasking, we are adding more chunks of information in our working memory, which therefore takes more time and ruins efficiency. Switching between tasks doesn't work either, because our brains need more time to process the working memory from the last task. This will in-turn discard the information that was once retained.

All in all, try to focus one project at a time!
